Meet Tevian

From a young age, Tevian Batiste-Wyatt has cared deeply about people, the planet, and finding ways to make everyday life a little easier for others. That compassion naturally grew into a passion for work that combines both — helping Oregonians live in safer, more comfortable, and more affordable homes while protecting the environment we all share.

After graduating from Cleveland High School in 2023, Tevian continued his education at a local trade school, where his interest in sustainability, building safety, and renewable practices really took root. There, he discovered how much impact one person can have by helping homeowners understand their energy use — not only saving money, but sometimes even saving lives through improved air quality, ventilation, and home safety.

Guided by this purpose, Tevian went on to train specifically in Home Energy Assessments, a field that allows him to combine science, care, and real-world solutions. He founded Wyatt Assessments LLC to put that knowledge to work — helping homeowners across the Portland metro area learn more about their homes and connect with trusted contractors through his partnership with the Energy Trust of Oregon.

Today, he also proudly partners with Taking Ownership PDX, providing no cost assessments for their homeowners and supporting the organization’s mission to uplift and protect marginalized homeowners in Portland.

What motivates Tevian most is the human side of the work — seeing families breathe easier, reduce expenses, and live in homes that feel healthier and more sustainable.

“Every home I visit is a chance to make someone’s life a little better,” he says. “Energy efficiency isn’t just about saving power — it’s about taking care of people and the planet.”
